How to get to Alquézar

Alquézar, which is the village where our Villages of the Guara starts and finishes, is easily reached from either Barcelona or Zaragoza.

Besides being the start of our Villages of the Guara, Alquézar is a perfect stopover for a night or two – especially if you are driving from Barcelona. The village is regularly voted one of the prettiest in Spain. It´s winding streets are overlooked by the church of Santa María – an old Moorish castle.

The village is a perfect place to while away a day or two sampling the local honey, cheeses and olives in the excellent restaurants – try La Pardina our favourite! There are also several hikes direct from the hotel including the ‘pasarelas’ – a short but spectacular hike along walkway deep in the Vero canyon. Alquezar is in the Somontano wine growing area and there are several vineyards to visit nearby.
