Sometimes everything just falls into place. You have a small group of people who get along wonderfully, and if it all happens here at home, in the Tena Valley, what more could we ask for?

Our guests certainly made life easy for David and me. Every day we happily agreed on the same walks, the same pace and the same goals. Most importantly, we all shared the same desire: to enjoy great days out in the mountains we love most. What else?

We were also lucky enough to spend a few days with Mamen, a trainee mountain guide who joined us as part of her training.

Together we revisited many of our favourite places—by now familiar to many of you who have walked with us before. We explored Ibon de Piedrafita beneath the impressive peaks featured on our Hike Pyrenees T-shirts, crossed into France to visit the ever-popular Ayous Lakes, and returned to the Tena Valley for a walk to Sabocos Lake above Panticosa. We made our way through the Bear Pass into the spectacular granite landscape below Arriel Peak and the lakes of Arriel and Respomuso, following the beautiful Aguas Limpias River. To round off the week, we climbed Pacino Peak, where the views over the whole Tena Valley and its surrounding mountains never disappoint -finally a cool day after the heatwave-.

We also took a break from the trails for a day steeped in history, exploring the ancient capital of the Kingdom of Aragon with Phil.

Those of you who have visited us before will probably remember another highlight of the week: the wonderful dinners here in our home village of Biescas. We started the week at Tiki and finished it at El Montañés. Do those names ring a bell?

After so many years guiding in these mountains, the Tena Valley still feels as special to us as ever. This is where Hike Pyrenees began, and this is where we'll always be delighted to welcome you.
