Blogging from the Pyrenees
Phil & Anna have been living in the Pyrenees for over 17 years and love the culture, wildlife and mountains here. We run Hike Pyrenees, which organises guided and self guided hiking holidays in the Pyrenees and other areas of Spain. Our blog tells about our adventures hiking, snowshoeing and skiing in the Pyrenees and we hope to explain some of the fascinating flora, fauna and history of the area. We hope you enjoy reading!

French Pyrenees Walking holiday: Following the Pioneers of Pyreneism
Our new French Pyrenees holiday took us on a journey, following in the footsteps of the first Pyreneists, exploring the giant cirques of Gavarnie, Troumouse, Vignemale and up the famous Col du Tourmalet.

Snakes in the Pyrenees

Calcotada in Sardas
At the weekend we had a ‘calcotada’ in Sardas. A calcotada is a traditional event where calcots are grilled or barbequed. A calcot is a type of green onion (to me more of a cross between an onion and a leek). The white edible part is elongated by…
