Thanks for another great hiking season

Autumn is now upon us and another hiking season is over! It only seemed like yesterday that we were awaiting the first group of the season.

In September we had wonderful weather for our final walking vacations of the season. The heatwaves of early summer had gone and we were left with sunny blue skies but with perfect walking temperatures.

We had groups both in the Pyrenees and in the Picos de Europa and did some fantastic routes as well as lots of extra activities such as visits to cheese caves, wine tastings, history tours and tapas evenings.

It's been a fantastic season and all of us here at Hike Pyrenees would like to say a big thank you to all of our guests that have hiked with us this summer. It was a pleasure showing you this wonderful corner of the world and we hope you enjoyed the area as much as we do.

I'd personally like to thank David, Juanma, Pablo and Arkaitz from our guiding team who've done a brilliant job all summer and I've nothing but positive feedback from our guests.

I'd also like to thank our driver Oscar and Teresa and Rosa in the office - they're the unsung heroes working hard behind the scenes while we're out in the mountains enjoying ourselves!

Last week we had an end of season staff meal at La Borda which all of our guests who stayed in Biescas will know well. As always the food was delicious and a great time was had by all.

Our thoughts have already turned to next season and we have a snowshoeing holiday running the first week of March - why not come and see the Pyrenees covered in a blanket of snow? We've also got early season hiking vacations in April with our Mar y Montaña holiday and in May at Riglos & Alquezar.

You can view our full 2020 hiking program on our website.

Again a big thank you to all of our guests this year and we hope to see lots of you back in the Pyrenees next year,

Phil

My late June hiking holiday based in Biescas was absolutely perfect in every way. I add my thanks to the team and especially to guides Juanma and David. I hope to “Hike Pyrenees” again one day very soon.

    Hola Phil

It is hard to believe that your season is done and that snow has arrived. It does seem like yesterday that we started the season with you and had such a wonderful trek in your beautiful mountains. All the best for a great ski and snow shoe season.

    Saludos Richard and Catherine
