Snow conditions in Formigal
From Formigal overlooking the Valle de Tena
We’ve been doing a fair amount of skiing at Formigal this winter. Snow conditions this week are perfect. There’s a good snow covering on all pistes and lots of powder off piste. Avalanche risk has been high for a lot of the winter though. One of our favourite pistes – Bosque – has even had a couple of tipi’s put in serving quemada – warm milk, rum and cinnamon. Perfect to warm you up on those chilly days!

Chema looks back on a wonderful week guiding our Discover Ordesa holiday, with walks through ancient forests, dramatic limestone valleys and the peaceful Bujaruelo Valley, followed by panoramic summit views from Pico Pelopín.
Our new French Pyrenees holiday took us on a journey, following in the footsteps of the first Pyreneists, exploring the giant cirques of Gavarnie, Troumouse, Vignemale and up the famous Col du Tourmalet.
A fantastic week on our Peaks & Passes guided walking holiday, with classic Pyrenean summits, alpine lakes, bearded vultures, wildflowers and superb views across the Valle de Tena.
