Feedback from guests

Below is some of the feedback that we've had this year from guests on our guided and independent walking holidays. Thanks to all our guests that have sent feedback - if you've not mailed us any comments yet please do and we'll add them.

A fantastic holiday, the activities were perfectly judged to provide the adrenaline rush the children and my husband wanted, whilst providing me with the reassurance that all was safe and expertly run.  A special thank you for the delicious packed lunches and for always going the extra mile to ensure we got the absolute most out of every experience.

Hiking with Phil and Anna is the way to go. Its like having your own personal guide. There were only 3 in the group and the hikes were selected with a view to giving us as much variety as possible and just the right level of challenge! The Pico Anayet hike was a great climax to a fab. week. The hotel was well chosen; small, friendly and family run. Phil and Anna treated us more as friends than customers. There were beautiful packed lunches provided by Anna and a coolbox in Phil's car loaded with all sorts as an added incentive to complete the hike! Not only did I leave Panticosa feeling fitter and pleasantly exhausted, but with a better knowledge of the flowers, butterflies(millions!) and vultures in the area provided by Phil/David Attenborough. Thank you Anna for collections at airports, transport to concerts, arranging bus tickets, providing cool beers in deserted villages and too many other things to mention! I really hope to return to do Monte Perdido.

The holiday exceeded our expectations. The service we received from yourselves and the staff at the hotel was excellent. In particular my special dietary requirements were looked after very well (gluten intolerance) both by Anna with her excellent picnics and the hotel with our breakfasts and evening meals. The walks themselves were outstanding (even the cow day!!!) and Phil's knowledge of the local area and flora and fauna made every walk memorable. All in all a great week and we have started recommending you to family and friends.

We would both like to thank you for such a wonderful holiday. As it was our Pearl Wedding Anniversary, we needed it to be special - and it really was. Everything about it was superb. The hotel, the setting, the food - as well as the walking, of course. We found this to be spectacular. Although we walk in the UK, Phil's trail notes helped us to do things we'd never have dreamed of. LIke walking at over 6000 feet, for example. We feel full of confidence and enthusiasm. We want to come back and do more - and actually do some of the routes again as they were so good, with such great views. We even enjoyed the spectacular thunderstorm in the middle of the night!

I'd had a bit of a near death hiking experience ten years ago in the Picos de Europa and needed to get back a bit of confidence for solo hiking. This trip was the perfect way to achieve it. Phil is a thoroughly competent and re-assuring guide who I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone - at whatever level. What struck me about the walks he put together was how thoughtful and intelligent he was, and with a light touch gave as much guidance and information as we needed-his nature notes and general appreciation of the mountains a delight. As a young and enthusiastic couple Phil and Anna have gone the extra mile to put together some lovely, stimulating walks - highly recommended.

Many thanks to Phil and Anna for putting together such a great holiday, and for tailoring the week to meet our specific requirements. You were both very friendly hosts, informative guides on the walks and region, and great company.
Our four days (independent) walking in the Pyrenees were excellent. Phil provided a range of walks to choose from and his suggestions to our particular requirements/interests were perfect. The snow/ice covered Ibones de Arriel and, of course, the Ordesa Valley were spectacular. As my first visit to the Pyrenees, the region more than lived up to my highest expectations. Our two days of activities (canyoning, via ferrata and rafting) were great fun; many thanks to Anna for organising at short notice, accompanying us to act as translator, and encouraging me up the cliff face!
I will (and indeed already have) recommended Hike Pyrenees to friends and family, and we hope to return next year to try the Refugio Week.

Sheila and I would like to thank you both for a fantastic week. The organisation was spot-on and helped us feel relaxed from the first day. Your knowledge of the area together with your policy catering for small groups meant we could be flexible about what our group wanted to do the following day; the personal touch.
The walks were pitched at just the right level for our group. We even enjoyed walking in the rain on the ridge at San Juan de la Pena (after drying out that is!). The scenery was stunning and even when the weather was lovely and sunny there were so few people around it was as if we had the valleys and mountains to ourselves.
Once again thanks for a brilliant holiday. Hope to see you next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our holiday in Panticosa. It exceeded our expectations in every department. The welcome we received on arrival at the hotel was superb, and all the staff were really friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
Phil was a truly wonderful guide, so knowledgeable and informative about all aspects of the fascinating and wonderfully varied walks we went on. We looked forward to each day's new experience and have so many unforgettable memories - the sight of our first griffon vulture, spectacular waterfalls, meadows full of wild flowers and of course the breathtaking views - to name but a few. Both he and Anna could not have been more kind and generous with their time and Anna spoilt us rotten with her picnic lunches, the highlight of which were her homemade cakes! They both helped make our holiday really special - it was like being with good friends. We can't recommend this holiday too highly, and wish Phil and Anna every success with Hike Pyrenees. They deserve it.
