Blogging from the Pyrenees
Phil & Anna have been living in the Pyrenees for over 17 years and love the culture, wildlife and mountains here. We run Hike Pyrenees, which organises guided and self guided hiking holidays in the Pyrenees and other areas of Spain. Our blog tells about our adventures hiking, snowshoeing and skiing in the Pyrenees and we hope to explain some of the fascinating flora, fauna and history of the area. We hope you enjoy reading!

French Pyrenees Walking holiday: Following the Pioneers of Pyreneism
Our new French Pyrenees holiday took us on a journey, following in the footsteps of the first Pyreneists, exploring the giant cirques of Gavarnie, Troumouse, Vignemale and up the famous Col du Tourmalet.
The cliffs of the Sierra de Partacua
Yesterday hiked from one of my favourite villages in the area – Aso de Sobremonte. It’s set in a hidden-away hanging valley that makes you feel like you’re a million miles away from anyone else. There’s a lovely horseshoe which just begs to be hiked.
First outing on the snow
The first big snowfall of the year has arrived and Anna and I couldn’t wait to get out on the snowshoes. After a few cloudy, snowy days the weathers cleared and we’ve wonderful blue skies. We headed over the Somport pass (north of Jaca) jus over the border into France.
