Dodder – Cuscuta epithymum

Dodder doesn’t have any ground roots, instead it winds itself around other plants and its roots grow into the strangled host. It does not have any leaves either and only has very small white flowers, therefore it looks very much like red twine which gives it the nickname of ‘devil’s twine’ or ‘witches yarn’.
