Cobweb Houseleek – Sempervivum Arachnoideum

The cobweb house leek can grow up to altitudes of 3000m thanks to its ‘cobwebs’. When the rosettes are young the leaves within the rosettes stick to each other a little and when the rosette grows slightly the sticky parts ‘spin threads’ which look like cobwebs. this along with the small hairs on it’s leaves protect the plant from strong sun rays and also the cold.
