Hiking in the Pyrenees

More hiking holidays in the Pyrenees

Here are some more photos of the superb holidays we had last July in the Pyrenees. We had a fantastic month of hiking and while the temperatures were a bit on the hot side, we had lots of sunshine and the rainjackets stayed in the rucksack the whole month!

Peaks & Passes, July 14th-21st

From the general views of the Valle de Tena from Pico Pacino to the red peak of Ayous on the French side, or the Martian landscape surrounding the Anayet as you get to the chains heading to the summit, we had another great week in wonderful weather. The highlight of the week was crossing the chains and the scramble up the pointy summit of Pico Anayet.

Heading to Anayet Peak

“Another good experience with Phil and his team at Hike Pyrenees. See you next year to explore Ordesa” (David)

Lakes & Valleys, July 14th-21st

More gentle walks in the woods of La Sarra, or a bit more demanding up to some of the most beautiful mountain lakes like Piedrafita, Ayous and Sabocos (this one via gondola to help with the first 700m of ascent), we enjoyed this week based on the cosy Hotel Almud, at Sallent de Gallego village.

Valle de Tena

“Great holiday, great group. Well organized, friendly and knowledgable. Very good at organizing walks to suit people at all levels. Well done!” (Peter & Joy)

Valle de Tena Explorer, July 21st-28th

Last but not least, our home valley once again.  A bigger but very easy-going group enjoying every single walk in both levels, from easy ones in Piedrafita or Pueblos del Serrablo to much harder ones in Anayet or Sabocos. The peak and lakes of Ayous was the final touch to this great holiday.

Midi d'Ossau

“Memories are made doing amazing things with great people. Thanks for the wonderful memories.” (Maggie & Scott)

Brilliant week, fantastic hotel – pool and sauna were very welcome. The organization and expert care from the whole team shone through. Wonderful walks with a great company – would highly recommend.” (Jude)
