The glacial valleys, rocky summits and high mountain pastures make the Spanish Pyrenees a walkers paradise. Walks vary from rambles across flower filled meadows to exhilarating cliff-top paths. The one thing every walk has in common is stunning mountain scenery and breathtaking views. The climate is superb with fabulously sunny days throughout the year.
The village is centred around a 13th century church, with narrow streets winding around traditional stone buildings. Set in the heart of the Valle de Tena, Panticosa is a great base from which to explore this superb walking region.
There are several bars and restaurants, as well as a few shops, cash machines and a small supermarket selling the necessities.
The village has a municipal outdoor pool with incredible views which is open in July and August. An indoor pool is open year round which also has a sauna in which you can relax tired muscles.
A superb walking area with a huge variety of walks from gentle rambles in flower filled meadows to long days in the high mountains tackling 3000m peaks.
The vertical cliffs of the Sierra de Tendeñera form the skyline to the south, while the north and east are dominated by a collection of 3000m peaks. To the west the rocky walls of the Sierra de Partacua rise from grassy meadows.
Near the French border the Valle de Tena opens up to a wide, grassy high plateau with beautiful views of impressive peaks such as Midi D'Ossau and Pico Anayet.
South of the valley lies the Serrablo and a collection of medieval villages famous for their 11th century romanesque churches.
Our Discover Ordesa holidays are based in Torla - an ideal location from which to explore the Park.
