Pictures from our Refugio Week this June. The first three days hiking were in the Ordesa National Park and included an ascent of a still snow covered Monte Perdido (3355m). The second area we hiked in was the Valle de Tena, staying overnight in Refugio Respomuso and climbing Tebbarai (2965m). A superb week hiking with weather to match.
On the summit of Monte Perdido (3355m).
The Senda de los Cazadores climbs steeply from the valley floor to give spectacular views over Ordesa.
This high level path gives superb views of Ordesa, the Breche de Roland and the border peaks.
The third highest peak in the Pyrenees and our objective on the second day.
Taking in the views at the head of the valley.
We spend the night at Refugio Goriz situated directly below Monte Perdido.
The final steep section before the summit of Perdido.
Just one of the spectacular summits we passed by.
Views of the high peaks from the Col between Ordesa and Anisclo.
We walk out through the Anisclo Canyon where we were lucky enough to see the rare Lammergeier.
Spectaculary positioned in the Cirque de Piedrafita, Respomuso was our base in the Valle de Tena.
Late snow this season made for a dramatic approach to Tebbarai.
The final steep climb to the col.
Panaoramic views from the peak of Tebbarai.
Approaching the 'Col of Hell' !
Enjoying a well earned beer at the end of 5 fantastic days hiking.
